Asian Games 2023 9th Day Highlights: Monday was a great day for India in the Asian Games. Indian players won 7 medals on Monday. Out of these 7 medals, the athletes won 5 medals for India. At the same time, till the end of today’s game, Tejaswin Shankar is at the top of decathlon with 4260 points. Indian team got silver medal in 400 meter mixed relay. Earlier today, skaters won 2 bronze medals. After this, bronze was won in the women’s doubles event of table tennis in the afternoon. Whereas athletics events started in the evening.
India won bronze medal in skating. The women’s team won the medal in the skating 3000 meter relay with a time of 4:34.861. After this, the men’s team won the bronze medal for India in the relay event with a time of 4:10.128.
Bronze to Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee
However, in table tennis, Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee had to face defeat against the Korean pair in the semi-finals. In this way Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee got bronze medals. The Korean player defeated the Indian pair 1-7, 8-11, 11-7, 8-11, 9-11, 11-5, 2-11.
Got silver and bronze in steeplechase event…
Parul Chaudhary won silver for India in the Women’s 3000 meter steeplechase event. Whereas in this event Preeti captured bronze. Sojan won silver in Women’s Long Jump. She won silver in Women’s Long Jump with a jump of 6.63 meters. Apart from this, India’s Muhammad Anas, Jisna Mathew, Aishwarya Mishra, Sonia Baishya, Muhammad Ajmal won silver medal in mixed relay.
Indian men’s team reached semi-finals in hockey
Apart from this, the Indian men’s team has reached the semi-finals in hockey. India played against Bangladesh in its last group match and won 12-0. Harmanpreet Singh and Manpreet Singh scored 3 goals each for India. Abhishek scored two goals. Also Amit Rohidas, Lalit Upadhyay, Nilakanta Sharma and Gurjant Singh scored 1 goal each.
